You can always add new Items to your inventory list very easily. To create a new item/product, navigate
Operations ⇒ Manage Inventory ⇒ Add Product/Item
Basic Details
Enter the Basic details of your product (refer screenshot below):
#1 : Select Basic Product/Item from the header
#2 : Components of Basic Product creation are listed below
- Sellable Item: This is usually checked by default indicating that the prices of the item will be displayed to the customer
- Item Name: Create a suitable short name (recommended maximum length: 40 characters) of the item/product. This will help in identification of the product
- Item Location: If business has multiple locations and inventory need to be managed separately, assign a default location to the item. Later, business will need to configure a separate variant of the product.
- Item Type: Select a suitable item type. Email us at Twirll.Support@ebsconsulting.biz if you are unable to find a suitable item type.
- Selling Price and Currency: Add the selling price and the currency of the item
- Unit: If you selling shirts, unit could be “Piece”. Say price of the shirt is $50 AUD, it will displayed as $50 AUD per piece to the customers.
- Item Description: Provide an appropriate description to the product/items to enhance customer experience
- Stock Independent: Check this box if the item quantity is unlimited (or independent of the stock). Once unchecked, following options will appear:
- SKU: Stock Keeping unit, a unique identification for the stock
- Stock-In-Hand: Total stock available in hand
- Out of Stock Threshold: Once the stock-in-hand is equal to this threshold, business will get a notification via email so they can take appropriate action
- Long Description : Describe your product in detail by adding more and more information here.
#3 : Once all the details are filled, click on “Save” button to add the items
Advanced Details
In cases, such as product with multiple variants, switch to Advanced Details (if required):
#1 : To Create a product with multiple variants, click on “Advanced Product/Item” tab
#2 : Click on this checkbox to enable variants on this product
Once this checkbox is clicked, further options will be visible to add different type of variants
#1 : In this section you can select type of options you wish to create, select attribute of variant from the dropdown and add respective values in the input given
#2 : The variants to be created will start listing in the table format, you can also edit values of thease variants from inputs provided
- Scan Code: If the item has an existing barcode, assign the value. If kept blank, system will auto-generate a barcode
- Search Tag: Add appropriate search tags (or keywords) so that item is searchable by the customers. Adding an appropriate tag is important to help customers search the items with keywords.
- Other Prices: Include following prices (with exact/approximation value) to generate reports such as profitable items etc.:
- Buy Price: Cost at which the raw or actual product was purchased from the manufacturer
- Cost Price: This cost can include other expenses such as fixed asset costs (rent, land, shelf, transport etc.)
- In-Store Price: If online selling price is different to the in-store or dine-in price, include the relevant in-store or dine-in price here
- Wholesale Price: This is for B2B or wholesale price, usually displayed to retailers only by suppliers
- Packaging Details: If the product delivery charges are calculated by volumetric weight, fill the details of length, height, width and weight
- Multiple Variants: Check this box if the product has multiple variants. e.g. A shirt can have size variants (Medium, Large, Small etc.). Apart from the details already explained earlier, fill-in the following details:
- Shelf-location: Suppliers/Retailers can fill this value to identify the location/aisle of the shelf
- Online Flag: If unchecked, item will not be displayed online but will be displayed via POS only (in-store)
#3 : Oncr details are provided, click on “Save” to save the products in your inventory list

Uncategorised Menu/Inventory: Once items/products are created, they must be categorised to an appropriate Catalogue. Click here for more information.
Catalogue/Menu Creation: If a catalog or menu is not created, navigate to Sales and create the relevant Catalogue or Menu. Click here fore more information.
