This documentation outlines the steps to configure the Reset Cart on Order Type Change setting for an online store. This feature is essential for managing pricing discrepancies when items have different prices based on the order type.


Understanding the Pricing Issue

Pricing Issue Example

  • Different prices for the same items based on order type can lead to confusion.
  • Example:
    • Tandoori Chicken Half: $15 (Takeaway), $20 (Delivery)
    • Tandoori Chicken Full: $20 (Takeaway), $25 (Delivery)

Accessing the Configuration Settings

Access Configuration Settings
Customize Setting

  1. Navigate to the portal.
  2. Click on Sales.
  3. Select Online Store Websites.
  4. Click on Customize.

Configuring the Reset Cart Setting

Reset Cart Setting

  • In the left sidebar, go to Website Setup
  • Go to Online Order Settings.
  • Locate the Reset Cart on Order Type Change setting.
  • Enable the setting.
  • Choose between:
    • Reset Items Only: Resets items without affecting customer details.
    • Reset Order: Resets items along with customer details.
  • For this configuration, select Reset Items Only and save the settings.

  1. Return to the Menu Page on the website.
  2. Refresh the page.
  3. Example:
  4. Select Tandoori Chicken Half and Full.
  5. Change the order type to Takeaway.
  6. Observe the pop-up indicating the order type change.
  7. Confirm the cart resets and select the correct items for the new order type.
